During the early morning hours of December 30, 2008, the East Fishkill Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire at #50 Innsbruck Drive in the Little Switzerland development off Rte 82 in the Town of East Fishkill. Upon their arrival, they had fire venting from the roof of a large two story tudor style residence. Additional alarms were transmitted that brought in additional equipment as well as a FAST team from the Village of Fishkill FD. As crews stretched numerous lines to the second floor of the residence, a porta-tank operation was established to supply water to the scene as this area does not have a municipal water system. The fire was agressively taking control of the attic as crews worked diligently to stop it by pulling the ceilings and hitting the fire from below. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading from the attic and clearly saved the residence and its contents from imminent destruction. East Fishkill was assited at the scene by the Village of Fishkill and Beekman Fire Departments and the New Hackensack Fire Department provided station coverage during the incident.
